Who & Why

Find out who we are and why we do this: About us

We have Avignonesi & Capannelle, Clos Du Marquis and Giacomo Borgogno.

Perhaps the Avignonesi & Capannelle 2006 50 & 50 is one of the best vintages. The wine has licorice, sour cherry, cherry pit, marzipan, a touch of non-distracting volatile acidity, medium to full body, medium to long finish, balance, power, extract and seems rather young. 18.8/20 points.

The 1990 Clos du Marquis is ripe and has a sweet nose with malt, Turkish mocha, leather, moss, red fruits, medium body and is long and balanced. 17.5/20 points.

The Giacomo Borgogno 1937 Barolo Riserva unfortunately does not have the class of the 1931, 1944 or 1947. The wine is only for fans of mature Barolo. The wine has moss, undergrowth, some volatile acidity, medium body, age sweetness and is sparse and long. 16/20 points.
