Today we have 2 champagnes, a Chardonnay from California and one of the best Lemberger.
Eric Rodez produces champagnes in a very vinous way. The Eric Rodez 2017 Les Beurys Maceration Pinot Noir Rose Ambonnay Grand Cru is a perfect rosé for structure and lots of fruit. The champagne has raspberry, strawberry, cherry, slightly phenolic notes, medium body, perfect balance and is dense, mineral, long and creamy. 18.8/20 points.
The Roses de Jeanne 2015 Les Ursules Blanc de Noirs Brut initially looks like a Blanc de Blancs. The wine has blossoms, medium body, balance and is round, long, polished and somewhat sweetish. 18.3/20 points.
Kistler has a new vineyard and here is the debut vintage: The Kistler 2022 Chardonnay Stock Ranch is a modern Chardonnay with precision and vanilla, mocha, forest fire, caramel, full body, lime on the palate and is fresh, long, polished, dense, perfectly balanced and with caramel on the finish. 19/20 points.
The Schnaitmann 2022 Fellbacher Lämmler Lemberger Grosses Gewächs is a wine to drink now, it has lots of fruit with blueberry, cassis, cherry, phenolic notes, full body and is balanced, dense, long and polished. We have no idea how something like this will develop, but why not drink it now? 18.5/20 points.
