This time we have 3 great Rieslings from Rheinhessen and Mosel.
Despite rising prices, top German Rieslings are still very affordable, especially compared to the top wines of Burgundy.
The Clemens Busch 2015 Pündericher Marienburg Fahrlay Terrassen is very complex with honey at first, then tobacco, blossoms, some cake batter and with some aeration also honeydew melon, kumquats, apricot and peach. The wine has medium to full body and is long and balanced. 19.5/20 points.
The Van Volxem 2015 Scharzhofberger Pergentsknopp Riesling is actually still too young, but is already showing its potential. The wine has gummy bears, blossoms, tobacco, medium to full body and is very mineral and precise. 19.3/20 points.
The Kühling-Gillot 2015 Nackenheimer Rothenberg Riesling Grosses Gewächs Wurzelecht is somewhat oxidative and has tobacco, nutmeg, white nougat, some petrol, medium to full body and is very mineral, long and balanced. 18.8/20 points.
