NEW: Praise and blame of corked wines

Unfortunately, the Longevenings had to be canceled in the new year due to illness. But now we're back at it again, with Chardonnay from Piedmont and a red Burgundy.

Piedmont offers many autochthonous grape varieties, so do you need a Chardonnay from Piedmont? The Pio Cesare 2021 Langhe Chardonnay Piodilei is very modern with vanilla, blossoms, full Body and perfect balance. It is dense, mineral and long. With a little more complexity, this would even be a great wine. This is a very positive surprise and shows that Chardonnay from Piedmont also makes sense. 17.8/20 points.

The Bouchard Pere & Fils 1995 Beaune 1er Cru Greves Vigne de L'Enfant Jesus is very ripe with malt, moss, underbrush, medium to full body, balance and a medium-long to long finish. 16.5/20 points, for old wine fans perhaps also 17/20 points.
