Who & Why

Find out who we are and why we do this: About us

This time we have a young Cornas and two mature wines from Bergerac and Margeret River.

The Château Tour des Gendres 1998 Moulin des Dames has held up surprisingly well and still looks fresh and youthful without any notes of maturity. The wine has cherry, blackberry, medium to full body, some acidity, good structure, medium length and good balance. 17.8/20 points.

The Maison Stephan 2023 Cornas is very young and blindly recognizable as Cornas with lactic notes, blackberry, blueberry, some white pepper, butter, honey, full body and medium length. The wine is very fruity, very mineral, spicy, and is very young with a lot of potential. 18.5/20 points.

The Château Xanadu 1996 Cabernet Franc Artist Edition is a sensational wine that reminds us of Dunn Howell Mountain. The wine has red peppers, cassis, plaka, slightly earthy and animal notes and gets powdered sugar with air. The wine has full body, perfect balance, a long finish and high density. This is one of the best wines we have tasted from Australia. 19.5/20 points.
