Who & Why

Find out who we are and why we do this: About us

Here we have a sensational degustation with Ramey 2009, Vina Tondonia Gran Reserva Blanco and Domaine de Thalabert.

We have already noted several times how well Chardonnay from Ramey can age: The Ramey 2009 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard is a perfectly ripe, lush Chardonnay with white nougat, white chocolate, some caramel, full body, lots of extract and a slight bitter note. The wine is long, fresh and balanced, a typical Californian Chardonnay without aging notes. 19/20 points.

The Jaboulet Aine 1990 Crozes-Hermitage Thalabert from a perfect, very well stored bottle, has cherry, spicy notes, a malty sweetness, full body, perfect balance, a long finish and appears much younger. With air, the wine also becomes more complex and takes on bacon notes. 19/20 points.

The Lopez de Heredia 1976 Tondonia Gran Reserva Blanco is sensational. The wine is very complex and has resin, pear, rhubarb, bean wax, some red currant, full body and is balanced, mineral and spicy. This is an experience! 19.3/20 points.
