Who & Why

Find out who we are and why we do this: About us

We drink Sauvignon Blanc from Austria and Riesling from Germany.

The winery's new vintages are unfortunately much leaner, but the old vintages are durable and dense: the Neumeister 2003 Sauvignon Blanc Moarfeitl Reserve has not only held up sensationally, but has gained additional complexity over time. The wine has dark toast, gooseberry, cassis, herbs, blossoms and is phenolic and complex. The wine needs time in the glass and should be decanted. It has full body, high density, balance and is precise, long and complex. The bottle is quickly empty. 18.5/20 points.

The Heymann-Löwenstein 2010 Winninger Uhlen Riesling R is a sensational vintage that has not been made again in this form: lots of acidity, lots of residual sweetness, lots of alcohol (14.5% ABV) and immense extract, but all perfectly balanced. The wine is immediately recognizable as a Riesling with apricot, peach and some petrol. The wine has full body, lots of extract, high density and is long, dense and complex. The wine is ripe, but will keep for a few more years. 19.3/20 points.

The Emrich-Schönleber 2015 Monzinger Halenberg Riesling R is beginning to reach drinking maturity, but is actually still a little too young. The wine has apricot, peach, cake batter, sweetish and phenolic notes, medium to full body, medium-long to long finish and is very mineral, balanced, fresh and dense. 18.8/20 points with potential for more.
