Who & Why

Find out who we are and why we do this: About us

This time we taste the Barolo 2021 from Damilano and a champagne from the Aube.

This is one of the finest Champagne from the Aube: The Jacques Lassaigne 2015 Clos Sainte Sophie Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature has lots of bright blossoms and some coffee toast from the barrique, medium body, density and perfect balance. The champagne is spicy, very balanced, dense and very elegant. Although it is still very young, it is already perfect to drink. 18-18.7/20 points.

The 2021 Barolo vintage is great, but does not come close to the fine tannin of 2016.

The Damilano 2021 Barolo Cannubi is the very elegant Barolo, with cherry, some Amarena, phenolic notes, full body, lots of polished tannin, long finish and density and balance. 18.8/20 points.

The Damilano 2021 Barolo Cerequio has cherry pit, full body, lots of acidity and tannin and is long and dense. 17.5/20 points.

The Damilano 2021 Barolo Brunate is a storage wine that needs at least another 5-10 years to show its quality. At the moment, the wine has cherry, dark fruit, full body, a long finish, power and density. The wine is too young now, but has a lot of potential.
