Today there are two real favorite wines, a sensational champagne and a great Riesling from the Rheingau.
I don't really need to write much more about the Charles Heidsieck 1995 Blanc des Millenaires: One of the best champagnes if you like it ripe. This bottle has a lot of coffee and mocha in addition to brioche and blossoms. Otherwise we have perfect balance, perfect mousse, perfect ripeness, high density and length. 19.8/20 points.
The Peter Jakob Kühn 2014 Riesling Schlehdorn may not come from one of the best vintages for German Riesling, but the wine is very mineral, dense, long, balanced and with plenty of glycerine and floor wax. 18.8/20 points with potential for more.
