This time, there are two interesting wines from Piedmont and, as a highlight, a Dunn Howell Mountain.
The Erbaluna NV Ramé is a Nebbiolo rosé made using the saignée method from the 2024 Barolo vintage. The wine has blossoms, strawberry, and spicy notes, medium body, balance, perfect structure thanks to well-integrated tannins, and medium length. This is a rosé with structure and character. 16.3/20 points.
The Scagliola 2023 Barbera d'Asti Frem is an inexpensive food wine with excellent value for money. The wine has lots of cherry and Amarena, full body, medium to long finish, and is dense, balanced, but also slightly jammy. 17/20 points.
The Dunn 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain has the typical aromas of iodine, powdered sugar, oyster shells, animal notes, full body, medium to long finish, and is almost elegant and quickly drunk. 19/20 points.
