Let's try two high-end Pinot Noir from Armand Rousseau and Friedrich Becker.
A few months ago, I drank a 2004 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru from Armand Rousseau with 19/20 points. But the quality does not seem to be consistent: the Armand Rousseau 2010 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru has toasty notes, cherry, medium body, balance, medium length, and is elegant. The wine hardly improves with air. 17.5/20 points.
The Friedrich Becker 2018 Heydenreich Pinot Noir is complex and dense and has toasty notes, cherry, spices, with air also licorice and slightly animal notes, full body, Burgundian structure and is long, balanced, elegant, somewhat earthy, spicy, fresh and phenolic. 19.3/20 points. 1:0 for Palatinate against Burgundy!
