Only the best for a birthday.
The Molitor 2018 Graacher Himmelreich Spätburgunder*** is clearly recognizable as a Spätburgunder grown on slate and is one of the best Spätburgunder in Germany. The wine is full-bodied, with many different cherry notes, and is balanced with a medium to long finish, perfect balance and complexity, and high density. The wine is now perfectly ripe, but will certainly remain at this level for another 3 to 5 years. 19.3/20 points.
The Château Haut Brion 1989 Pessac-Leognan 1er Grand Cru Classe is a classic Bordeaux of the highest quality and, as such, immediately recognizable. The wine has slightly animalistic and spicy notes, cassis, complexity, medium to full body, some rosehip, and is long and mature. 19.3/20 points.
