With its 2010 vintage, the Heymann-Löwenstein winery has produced some truly unique wines with sensational density and minerality. The high acidity means that the residual sweetness is barely noticeable. It's time to taste this vintage again.
Both wines have a high alcohol level (ABV 14.5%), residual sweetness, high acidity, high extract, and incredible salty minerality, which leads to a lot of tartrate - very fine in the Uhlen L, rather coarse in the Uhlen R.
The Heymann-Löwenstein 2010 Winninger Uhlen Riesling L has orange, lots of tangerine, blossoms, and a full body, length, density, and balance. 18.8/20 points.
The Heymann-Löwenstein 2010 Winninger Uhlen Riesling R has whiskey barrel, cigar box, white nougat, white chocolate, blossoms, honey, extremely rich extract, and salty minerality, and is exceptionally complex. It doesn't get any better than this. 20/20 points.
