NEW: Praise and blame of corked wines

This time there will be a blind tasting of Barolo.

The Giacomo Borgogno 2017 Barolo Liste is a classic Barolo that will last for decades, but is already enjoyable to drink now. The wine has herbs, raspberries, full body, density, lots of melted tannins, and a long finish. The wine needs plenty of air in the decanter. 18.3/20 points.

The Conterno-Fantino 2018 Barolo Castelletto Vigna Pressenda has lots of fruit sweetness and density, red fruits, black tea, full body, lots of fine tannins, and lots of power and pressure with a long finish. The wine needs a few more years to reach its full potential. Now 18.8/20 points with potential for 19/20.

The Paolo Scavino 1998 Barolo Rocche dell' Annunziata Riserva is an almost perfect Barolo with a complex and expressive nose of violets, dried rose petals, licorice, raspberries, red fruits, full body, lots of fine tannins, and is balanced, long, and dense. 19.5/20 points.
