Today we will taste Roero Arneis, Chardonnay from Tasmania and Sauvignon Blanc from Steiermark.
One of the best Arneis wines is the Cornarea 2019 Roero Arneis Enritard. The wine has mocha, roasted notes, flowers, a hint of floor wax, medium body, a long finish, and is amazingly fresh. 17.8/20 points.
The Tolpuddle 2018 Chardonnay from Tasmania has mocha, lots of dark toasted barrique, blossoms, flint, full body, and cool minerality. 18.3/20 points.
The Tement 2011 Zieregg Sauvignon Blanc still seems young and has plenty of potential. The wine is very complex and no longer has the typical primary fruit notes of Sauvignon Blanc. It has sweet blossoms, spruce, tobacco, full body, perfect balance and density, and is long and mineral. It's sensational how well Tement's Sauvignon Blancs can age. 19/20 points.
