NEW: Praise and blame of corked wines

Let's taste a Berncasteler Doctor Riesling Spätlese and a Taurasi Riserva Radici.

The Witwe Dr. Thanisch 2007 Berncasteler Doctor Riesling Spätlese is an archetypal Spätlese from the Mosel region, offering aromas of apricot and peach, medium body, a touch of residual sweetness, perfect balance, a hint of honey, and a medium finish. This wine needs air and will keep for at least another 20 years. 18/20 points.

The 2007 Mastroberardino Taurasi Riserva Radici, with its tannic structure, is reminiscent of a Nebbiolo. The wine boasts blackberry and dark berries, a full body, abundant, mellow tannins, a long finish, structure, density, and still has potential. It appears youthful and needs a few more years to reach its peak. 18.3/20 points.
