Although this is a half-bottle with a low fill level ("low shoulder"), it makes for an impressive tasting experience.
The Château d’Yquem 1878 Premier Grand Cru Classé Supérieur offers notes of cake batter, spruce, molasses, and brown sugar; it has a medium-to-full body, slight acidity, and hints of wax - along with a touch of vinegar - and is complex with a long finish. It is difficult to rate, but I give it 18/20 points for the experience.
