Older vintages of Monte Bello were traditional Californian Reds. The new vintages seem to be modern and fruity.

The Ridge 2014 Monte Bello is sweet, complex and full of black fruits, especially blackberries,  cigar box and rosewood. With full-body, perfect balance, density and minerality, it is a modern but elegant wine and a perfect representative for Californian wine. 19/20 points.
