The temperatures are rising and so it is warm enough to produce superb sparkling wines in England. But what about Pinot Noir? What about South Africa?
The Bolney 2018 Pinot Noir Foxhole Vineyard comes from Sussex. Although its colour is very light like a rosé, it is a medium-bodied wine with a lot of raspberry, herbs and white pepper, perfectly balanced, a long finish and a slight residual sugar. It is the perfect wine for a summer day on the terrace. 17/20 points.
The Haut Cabriere 2007 Pinot Noir had so much acetone that it was nearly undrinkable.
