This time: Bubbles from the Mosel (or to be more precise from the Saar) and Riesling from Rheinhessen.
One of the best sparklings made from Riesling is the Van Volxem 2016 Riesling Sekt Brut 1900. It has a fine perlage, flowers, apricot, medium-body, balance, freshness and a medium long finish. This sparkling has potential and will benefit from further aging. 18.8/20 points.
Unfortunately, two bottles were damaged during transport and leaked. But as we've already found out, that's not a problem - if the wine is a Großes Gewächs from Klaus Keller. His Rieslings Großes Gewächs need a long time to reach their peak. If the cork is no longer 100% tight, it will accelerate the ripening process, but it will not ruin the wine. Only very few dry Rieslings have this potential for a long life.
The Kllaus Keller 2009 Dalsheimer Hubacker Riesling Großes Gewächs needs a lot of aeration, minimum 2 hours in the decanter. Then the wine is perfect to drink and has blossoms, vanilla, toasted notes, a full-body, a long finish, mineral and floor wax. 19.3/20 points.
The Klaus Keller 2011 Dalsheimer Hubacker Riesling Großes Gewächs is a bit more closed with blossoms, nutmeg, somewhat Viognier-like aromas, a full-body, some floor wax, mineral, and a long finish. 19/20 points.
