Only the best for a friend's birthday!

The Giacomo Borgogno 1947 Barbaresco Riserva starts out with cowshed, then a complex nose with forest floor, dried rose petals, autumn leaves, plaka, malt, coffee, full body, soft tannin, a long finish, balance and an incipient sweetness of age. Barbaresco can also age well! 19.3/20 points.

The Giacomo Borgogno 1952 Barolo Riserva appeared younger, with forest floor, moss, cherry, cherry stones, full body, present tannin, a long finish, density and structure. 19.3/20 points.

The Brocard-Compagnot 1957 Savigny Les Beaune 1er Cru Les Lavieres was a surprise. The vineyard is underestimated. Fantastic Burgundies can also come from small vintages. The wine has a complex nose with plaka, horse stable, coffee, cherry, a medium body, balance, medium-long finish, fresh acidity and is elegant. 18.5/20 points.

The Chateau Gruaud Larose 1982 St. Julien 2eme Grand Cru Classe has elderberry, olive, black pepper, blackberry, full body, lots of fine tannin, a long finish and is somewhat animalistic. The wine needs a lot of air and then also gets powdered sugar notes. 19/20 points.

The Dunn 1991 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain from a perfect bottle has cassis, powdered sugar, oyster shells, full body, precise tannin, a long finish, high density and is very mineral. 20/20 points.

The Belargus 2018 Quarts-de-Chaume Grand Cru liqoureux "Quarts" is a viscous, concentrated sweet wine with the potential of a Tokay. The wine has honey, some nutmeg, full body, high density, a long finish and is very sweet, but also elegant. The wine is still very young and has potential for many decades. 19/20 points.

The Quintarelli 1997 Recioto della Valpolicella Classico has a complex nose with Amarena, cherry, tobacco, cigar box, a full body, a long finish and is very dense, extremely complex and very elegant. 19.5/20 points.
