Today we are tasting one of the best Grüner Veltliners, the Honivogl.

The Hirtzberger 2012 Honivogl Grüner Veltliner Smaragd has 14% alcohol, but is nevertheless extremely balanced and almost light-footed. The wine has yellow plum, apricot, white pepper, nutmeg, full body and is dense, mineral, long and complex. Now it has reached perfect maturity. This is an archetypal Grüner Veltliner that could hardly be better. 19.5/20 points.
