Who & Why

Find out who we are and why we do this: About us

There are two great Rieslings and a wine in the style of a white Bordeaux.

The Battenfeld-Spanier 2016 Riesling C.O. Liquid Earth is actually still too young, but already a lot of fun to drink. The wine has smoky notes, grapefruit, lime, medium body, structure, potential and is very mineral and complex. The wine needs a lot of air and time. 19/20 points.

The Jonata 2013 Flor is a white Bordeaux style wine with 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon. The wine has an opulent nose with exotic fruits, passion fruit, a fruit basket, papaya, mango, lime and herbs. It has a full body and is spicy, mineral, long, fresh, complex and dense. Initially, the wine appears somewhat Riesling-like, but with air more and more yellow plum, elderflower and gooseberry come through. The wine is now perfectly ripe, but will remain at this level for several years. 19.5/20 points.

Unfortunately, older wines from Klaus Keller have a problem with the corks. The bottles leak and eventually the cork falls into the bottle. This bottle was also leaking and has already lost wine, so that the fill level has dropped to over 6 cm. The cork fell into the bottle when we tried to open it. We are correspondingly skeptical, but: The Klaus Keller 2007 Dalsheimer Hubacker Riesling Grosses Gewächs has apricot, blossoms, honey, dried apricots, herbs, a medium to full body, an oily density, fruit sweetness and is dry, long, balanced, precise and mineral. 19.5/20 points.
