Who & Why

Now it is time for two bottles which we bought at the last online auction.

The Klaus Keller 2015 Silvaner Feuervogel is one of the best Silvaner and can compete with the famous ones from Franken. It is a young wine which needs a lot of aeration and has potential to improve. It is full of spices, nutmeg and herbs. It is full-bodied, creamy, dense, spicy, very mineral and precise and has a long finish and a perfect balance. Give it time. 18/20 points.

There is the fairy tale that white wine from California cannot age well. Some weeks ago the 2001 Ramey Chardonnay proved it wrong and so does the Kistler 2001 Chardonnay Kistler Vineyard. It has caramel, white nougat, blossoms, honey, a full-body and a long finish and is dense and mineral. We are sure that this kind of maturity will not please everyone but will last for another 5-10 years without a problem. For us 19/20 points.
