After drinking the 3-year-old bottling of this special cuvée and reading the description of the other two bottlings at Parker, the decision was clear: we absolutely have to try the 10-year-old and the 50-year-old.

The Schloss Gobelsburg NV Tradition Heritage Cuvee 10 Years Edition 850 is the cuvée of several vintages with the oldest 10 years old. The wine is powerful and dense with apricot, flowers, honey, tobacco, elderflower, a bit of butter with aeration, full-body, a long finish, balance and a salty minerality. It definitely needs aeration for some hours in the decanter as it seems to be still a young wine. 19/20 points.

The Schloss Gobelsburg NV Tradition Heritage Cuvee 50 Years Edition 850 consists of 31 vintages from 1970 to 2020. The wine is one of the most impressive ones from Austria with an oily density, freshness, complexity and elegance, all at the same time. The nose has elderflower, currant leaves, honey, phenolic and reminds a bit of Viognier. The wine is very complex, full-bodied and elegant with a perfect structure. Wow! 19.5/20 points.
