The Kongsgaard 2008 Chardonnay The Judge was a very ripe Chardonnay with honey, blossoms and more and more caramel and hazelnut with the time. Full-bodied with honey, butter, caramel and a nice mierality, it is too ripe for its age. It remids of a old white Burgundy. Nevertheless 17.8/20 points.

Compossed of 65% Viognier and 35% Roussanne, the Kongsgaard 2016 Viorous is a absolute delicious wine. White pepper, blossoms, orange zests, citrus and powdered sugar are the ingredients of this wine. It is full-bodied, spicy and creamy with a medium long finish. 19/20 points.

Only very few wines have high alcohol, high extract and an extremely density but seem to be light-footed. Martinelli 2019 Zinfandel Giuseppe & Luisa has 16.3% alcohol but it is elegant and light-footed. You notice the alcohol level. With a lot of blueberry, raspberry and blossoms this Zin has a light sweetness, high density, complexity and a long finish. This is power with elegance. 18.8/20 points.

One of the famous wines of South Africa is the Stellenzicht 1995 Syrah. With bacon, plaka, coffee, mocha and tar, it is very complex, full-bodied, balanced, elegant and with a slightly animalic taste and a long finish. It reminds of a Rhone wine and get powdered sugar with time. This is for sure one of the best SA wines ever. 18.8/20 points.

It is not a typical Riesling but so hedonistic. The W.E. Frank 2016 Riesling Teufelskopf has now the perfect ripeness and it has not only apricot and peach but also butter and blossoms. It is spicy, balance, dense and mineralic with a medium finish. There is no reason why not to drink it now. 18.8/20 points.
