It is a strange combination - Barolo Riserva and Pinot Noir from California.
The Elio Grasso 2007 Barolo Rüncot Riserva is a traditional Barolo Riserva with plum, liquorice, black fruits and slight fermentation aromas. It is full-bodied with lots of tannin, some acidity, mineral, density and a long finish. It is a traditional character wine which needs a lot of air to open up. 18.3/20 points.
The Morlet 2017 Coteaux Nobles Pinot Noir Fort Ross Seaview is the opposite. It is a modern, fruity Pinot Noir which explodes with butter, raspberry, black fruits and blossoms. It has full-body, a perfect structure, a long finish and a lot of fruit. It is mineral and very balanced and typical Californian. 19.5/20 points.
