This is the second try of fine old wines from winery Knipser. We are again surprised at how well the wines have held up.
The Knipser 1993 Riesling ** has a lot of petrol, flowers, herbs, khaki, sweetness of its old age and gets better and better with air. The opened bottle is still enjoyable on the second day. The wine has medium-body, some floor wax, a medium long finish and is amazingly lively and great for a dry Riesling with its age. 18.5/20 points.
The Knipser 1997 Cabernet Franc has cherry, plum, leather, slightly animal, cinnamon, a medium to full-body, balance, a medium long finish and some tannin. This is one of the first Cabernet Franc in Germany. 18.3/20 points.
