It's not Christmas yet, but that's no reason not to taste Christmas wines after all.

The Aldo Conterno 1945 Barolo Riserva Speciale shows how well Barolo can age. The wine has cherry, forest floor, moss, a full-body, some tannin, a long finish, fresh due to acidity and density. The wine seems much younger. 18.5/20 points.

Wow! We did not expect to taste such a great wine that is over 100 years old: The Château Latour 1906 Pauillac 1er Cru Classe has rosehip, cherry, herbs, a full-body, freshness due to acidity, a long finish, density, balance, complexity, but also some raspberry vinegar. 18.8/20 points for a bottle with excellent fill.
