It is time again to open some high quality sample bottles.
The sparkling wine Schlossgut Diel 2009 Dorsheimer Goldloch Riesling Brut Nature belongs to the best Riesling sparkling wines with Van Volxem 1900. Here we have the 4th batch from December 2021 with 136 months of yeast aging. The batches often differ more. The sparkling wine has lots of blossoms, peach, yellow plum, lilac, medium body and long finish with floor wax. It is very creamy, mineral, dense and has some acidity. 19/20 points.
The sparkling wine Schlossgut Diel 2014 Cuvée MO (1st batch, July 2022, 77 months of yeast aging) has perfect maturity now, so it's fun to drink now. The sparkling wine initially has some eggy notes, caramel, blossoms, medium body, balance and is mineral and Champagne-like. 18.3/20 points.
We just got the mailing list delivery: The Morlet 2020 Chardonnay Coup de Coeur is a typical high-end Chardonnay from California with blossoms, vanilla, caramel, full body, Barrique, lots of extract, very balanced and elegant. It is drinkable now, but is still very young and has a lot of potential. 19/20 points.
The Bertani 1964 Spumante Recioto Valpolicella Riserva Valpantena is dark brown with an olive green rim and has almost no perlage left. But even as a still wine, fun is guaranteed here, the wine has beet syrup, dates, plum, coffee, full body, balance, long finish, power, density and a slight sweetness. Here a Recioto was sensationally made into sparkling wine. 18/20 points and more.
The Château Gazin 1990 Pomerol is a classic, ripe Bordeaux with plaka, cassis, iodine, a bit earthy, medium body, spice, good structure and with air also powdered sugar and blossoms (violets, trumpet blossoms). The wine tastes more left bank. 18.5/20 points.
