This time there are La Spinetta and Gaja.

1997 was a warm year and a lot of wines were overripe and faded away. We are very suprised that the La Spinetta 1997 Barbaresco Starderi is still in good shape. The wine has blossoms, especially violets, blueberries, a good structure with ripe tannin and a medium to long finish. The wine should be drunk immediately. You should not save any leftover for the next day. 17.8/20 points.

The La Spinetta 2001 Barbaresco Starderi is from a more classic vintage and has the perfect maturity now. The wine has moss, violets, blueberries, licorice, a perfect structure with a lot of ripe tannin, a full-body, a long finish and a light sweetness. 18.8/20 points.

The Gaja 2016 Barolo Dagromis has walnut, moss, underbrush, some tar, medium to full body, medium amount of fine tannin, perfect balance and structure, long finish and a slight sweetness. The wine needs air and has potential to increase over the next years. 18/20 points.
