Two of the best sparklings from Germany and a truly great Pinot Noir - also from Germany.
The Rebholz 2012 Pi No. Extra Brut has herbs, apricot, pineapple and some brioche and is very creamy, balanced and with a long finish. The sparkling wine is still very young and has potential and a lot of power and becomes more mineral with air. 18/20 points.
The Georg Breuer 2009 Brut is also one of the best sparkling wines in Germany. It has pineapple, apricot and peanut, medium body, balance, a long finish and high complexity. 18.3/20 points.
We haven't had a Friedrich Becker in quite some time. This wine shows that this was a mistake: The Friedrich Becker 2018 Pinot Noir Heydenreich has kirsch, strawberry, prune, herbs, a slightly animalic, a full-body. This is the perfect pirate for every Burgundy tasting as the structure is very Burgundian and the wine has truly Grand Cru quality. 19/20 points.
