We have Elio Grasso vs. Alain Voge.
The Elio Grasso 2016 Barolo Ginestra Casa Mate has come a long way since its last tasting 2 years ago. This modern Barolo now has an opulent nose with blueberries, violets, blossoms, cassis, a full body, balance, lots of fruit in the mouth, some butter, lots of tannin and a long finish. 19/20 points.
The Alain Voge 2010 Cornas Les Vieilles Vignes is an archetypal but also very elegant Rhone Syrah with light animalism, licorice, olive, blackberry, full body, balance and a medium to long finish. Its moderate tannin makes it seem very polished. 18.8/20 points.
