Sauvignon Blanc from Von Winning and Silvaner from Klaus Keller.
The Von Winning 2017 Sauvignon Blanc I is reminiscent of a Sancerre with its depth and again shows that this winery produces fantastic Sauvignon Blanc at a low price. The wine has phenolic notes, blossoms, gooseberry, cassis leaves, medium to full body, slight fruit sweetness, a medium to long finish, balance and is fruity and complex. 18.3/20 points.
The Klaus Keller 2015 Silvaner Feuervogel is far too young and needs years to peak. The wine needs lots of aeration in the decanter and has woodruff, blossoms, full body, structure, internal density and is phenolic. Currently 18/20 points, but potential for much more.
