We have a young Pinot Noir and a mature Barbaresco Riserva.
The Philipp Kuhn 2015 Kirschgarten Pinot Noir is perhaps the best Pinot Noir ever produced from this winery. The wine is complex with mocha, strawberry, and kirsch and has full body, perfect balance, density, a long finish, perfect structure, and perfectly integrated acidity that gives the wine a nice freshness. 19.3/20 points.
Giacomo Borgogno is famous for ripe Barolo Riserva and Barbaresco Riserva. The Barbaresco has less power, but usually the finer tannin and more elegance. The Giacomo Borgogno 1971 Barbaresco Riserva is a classic Nebbiolo with underbrush, moss, cress, some green notes, white mushrooms, full body, balance, density, a long finish and is elegant for a Nebbiolo. 18.3/20 points.
