Sometimes you have to try wines that you are not a big fan of.
The San Guido 2006 Sassicaia has a powerful and expressive nose with phenolic notes, cassis, plaka, elderberry and some earthy and animal notes. The wine is rich, round and fruity with a full body, long finish, structure, ripe tannins and is highly elegant. However, the wine could do with a little more density and it is ripe and looks about 10 years older. The wine is therefore for drinking now and not for cellaring. 18.8/20 points.
