There is a Chardonnay from Kistler this time, as well as 2 great Barolo.
The Kistler 2018 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast Dutton Ranch is an archetypal Californian Chardonnay with a strong barrique character. The wine has vanilla, blossoms, white nougat, white chocolate, full body and is spicy, long, dense and balanced. 18.8/20 points.
The Oddero 2016 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione has cherry, moss, dried rose petals, herbs, full body, long finish, density and a perfect structure. 18.5/20 points.
The Roberto Voerzio 2007 Barolo Fossati Case Nere Riserva 10 anni needs longer aeration in the decanter and has milk chocolate, malt, bacon fat, full body, fruit sweetness and good structure with nice tannin. The wine is extremely complex and elegant. 19/20 points.
