We taste a Blanc de Blancs, two Chardonnays from California and a wine from Chile.
The Roederer 2015 Blanc de Blancs Brut has a powerful nose with blossoms and citrus, medium body, balance and a medium-long to long finish. This champagne has an impressive freshness and has great potential for the next decade. 18/20 points.
The basic Chardonnay has great value for money: the Ramey 2021 Chardonnay Russian River has yellow plum, barrique, herbs, medium to full body, structure, medium length and is phenolic and balanced. 17.5/20 points.
The Ramey 2020 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard has yellow plum, herbs, white chocolate, toasty notes, full body, density and long finish. The wine needs a lot of air and is still very young. There is potential for at least 20 years. 18.8/20 points.
The Sena 2020 Aconcagua Valley is clearly recognizable as New World and has blueberry, eucalyptus, herbs, some wood, full body, structure, long finish and is dense, balanced, elegant and polished. 18.3/20 points.
