This time we have Silvaner and sparkling wine from Franken (Franconia), as well as a great Auslese from Rheinhessen.
The sparkling wine Schloss Sommerhausen 2017 La Grande Cuvée consists of Pinot Noir, Auxerrois, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay and is an ideal pirate for a champagne tasting because of its champagne style. The wine has a lovely perlage, blossoms, brioche, medium body, balance, medium length and is fresh, round and approachable. 18/20 points.
The Brügel 2021 Greuther Bastel Silvaner Filetstück is slightly animal and has stone meal, yellow fruit, apricot, full body and is long, dense, clean, precise and mineral. 17.8/20 points.
The Wirsching 2019 Iphöfer Julius-Echter-Berg Silvaner Grosses Gewächs has blossoms, apricot, powdered sugar, full body, power and is mineral, dense, long and fresh. The wine has a lot of potential and still needs time. 18/20 points.
The Castell 2019 Casteller Schlossberg Silvaner Grosses Gewächs (Released 09/2024) is still very young and has a lot of potential. The wine has nutmeg notes, full body and is spicy, very salty-mineral, long and balanced. 18.5/20 points.
The Klaus Keller 2015 Westhofener Abtserde Riesling Auslese tastes like a perfect Auslese from the Mosel with its play of sweetness and acidity. The wine has blossoms, apricot, yellow plum, medium to full body, perfect balance, light sweetness, medium length and is mineral and fresh. 18.5/20 points.
