It is amazing how young and fresh the 2015 Rieslings are. The wines have potential and will continue to grow. Ideally, the wines should remain in the cellar for at least another 5 years.
The Van Volxem 2015 Scharzhofberger Riesling Pergentsknopp is fresh, juicy, very mineral and precise. The wine has grapefruit, bright flowers, medium to full body, fresh acidity and a long finish. 18.8/20 points.
Although the Emrich-Schönleber 2015 Monzinger Halenberg Riesling R was aged longer in large wooden barrels, it has no fuder notes at all. The wine has blossoms, cassis, some nutmeg, medium to full body, a slight residual sweetness and is juicy, dense, creamy, long and mineral-salty with a slight residual sweetness. 18.5/20 points.
The Heymann-Löwenstein 2015 Winninger Uhlen Riesling R is closed and has slate and fuder notes, medium to full body, medium to long finish and power. The wine is juicy, fresh, dense and far too young. Now 17.5/20 points, but potential for much more.
