This is a phantastic cuvee from Washington State from Charles Smith.

The Charles Smith 2008 King Coal is made of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Syrah. It has a complex and expressive nose with dark toasted barrique, elder, blackberry, powdered sugar, rose hip and with aeration it even gets blueberries, violets, cigar box and Islay whisky. Although full-bodied, with a lot of glycerine and sweetness, it is fresh and balanced. With its full-body and long finish, it is a wine you cannot resist. 19.5/20 points.
