Who & Why

Find out who we are and why we do this: About us

Here we have two great red wines from La Spinetta and Gaja and a Beckstoffer To-Kalon.

We never expected that the La Spinetta 1999 Barbera d‘Asti Superiore would age so good. It has cherry and Amarena, a full-body, the Barbera typical acidity, some Plaka, a good density and a long finish. 18/20 points.

The Gaja 1996 Barbaresco showed undergrowth and moss, full-body, a lot of elegant and polished tannin, structure and a medium long finish. It is a typical Nebbiolo and will hold for years. 18.5/20 points.

From the most famous vineyard in California comes the Janzen 2010 Beckstoffer To-Kalon Cabernet Sauvignon. It starts with bacon but also showes violets, butter and blueberries. It is full-body, slightly mineral and a long finish. It is very fruity and has a Burgundian structure, so at first it seems to be a Pinot Noir. But with time it gets more and more Cassis. 18.8/20 points.
